The Generations Theater Project was founded to give a voice to stories of an older generation—stories that might otherwise be lost. By bringing playwrights and other artists together wth stories that need to be told, GTP will create new works of theater. We are committed to the developing these stories, from interviews to table-reads staged-readings, and ultimately full productions.
The Generations Theater Project is seeking play submissions for its Spring Reading Series.
Coming off a successful Fall Reading Series which featured 8 original short plays based on generational family stories, GTP is now seeking submissions of short original plays based on true immigrant stories, either 1st generation or 2nd generation stories, dramatized for the stage. All ethnicities strongly encouraged to submit. Plays may be works-in-progress.
Submissions should be no more than 40 minutes in length. Please submit a synopsis and 10-page dialogue sample to generationstheaterproject@gmail.com.
Submission Deadline is March 15, 2011.
Selected works with be work-shopped and presented as part of a Staged Reading in April 2011 in NYC.
